Editing Payrates

Default Payrates

YouTube Video available here

The Default Pay Rate applies to all classes by default unless worker specific rates  are created. You can also create multiple pay rates for different class tags or class types (for example, Private classes) to apply different compensation rules. Click the pencil icon to edit an existing pay rate. After entering an amount, select /Shift to calculate payroll by shift (e.g., a class taught) or /Hour to calculate based on hourly pro-rate.

To add additional pay rates for specific class tags, class types, or locations, click the + Add Pay Rate button.

Worker Specific Payrates

YouTube Video available here

To create a worker-specific pay rate:

  • Go to Pay Rates tab
  • Search for the worker. If their pay rates exist, you can edit their pay rates
  • If the worker does not yet have custom pay rates configured, you have to copy from another worker or from the Default PayRates and then edit:
    • Find another worker with similar pay rates; or you can use the Default PayRates
    • Click on the Copy button
    • Select the worker(s) you want in the dialog and Copy Pay Rates
    • Now you can edit the workers pay rates as desired following the same steps as in default payrates.

Monthly & Periodic Pay

For salaried employees, use Monthly pay rates to pay your workers the right fraction every month. Divide the annual salary by 12 to get the correct monthly payment. To add Monthly pay rate:

  • Click Add Pay Rate button
  • For Pay Rate Unit, select Month for monthly pay
  • In the field where n = enter the day of the month you want to record the earning. We recommend 1 for the first day of the month.
  • Click Add Pay Rate to save
  • Update Payroll

For bi-weekly paid employees, use Period Pay Rates to automatically add a fixed amount to each payroll run. To calculate the correct bi-weekly payment, divide the employee's annual salary by 26 (the number of bi-weekly pay periods in a year).

To add a Period Pay Rate:

  • Click the Add Pay Rate button.
  • For Pay Rate Unit, select Period.
  • Enter the bi-weekly payment amount (Annual Salary ÷ 26).
  • Click Add Pay Rate to save.
  • Click Update Payroll.

When you Update Payroll, the configured period pay will automatically be included in each payroll run, ensuring employees receive the correct bi-weekly amount.

Incentive/Bonus Structure

Click the pencil icon that enables you to edit payrates then click Add Incentive. You can select from the available Incentive Type options:

Attendence Count:

  • Each reservation over n applies a per-reservation incentive pay, where reservations can be any combination of attendees, Late Cancels and No Shoes.
  • n+ reservations is a flat amount when the reservation threshold, n, is achieved.

Utlization Percentage:

  • 50% utilization → $10 bonus
  • 75% utilization → $20 bonus
  • 100% utilization (max capacity) → $40 bonus

You can add multiple incentives. For example $2/reservation for each reservation over 10, then $10 starting from 20 reservations. You can also set a pay cap by entering a value into Max Pay.

Editing Compensation

You may want to edit the calculated numbers for a number of reasons, for example:

  • Adding ad-hoc payments and bonuses, e.g for worker expenses, or missed payments
  • Adding compensation for shifts that are not recorded on MarianaTek
  • Adjusting compensation for special cases, e.g. holidays, etc.

The first tab displays three payroll views: Payroll by Worker, Payroll by Location and Payroll by Worker and Location. From here, you can override Jebra’s calculations by clicking View Shifts then selecting the relevant shift and clicking Edit Compensation to assign a different payrate or bonus. Edited shifts are highlighted in purple and can be reset by clicking Discard Edits

Adding ad-hoc shifts on MarianaTek

As an alternative to editing the compensation as described above, you may want to explicitly add a new shift to a workers payroll. This may be useful in recording special one-off shifts.

The best way to do this is to:

  • Add the shift directly on MarianaTek
  • Update Payroll on Jebra
  • The class should now show up on the Jebra dashboard and you can edit as desired.
