End-of-Year Payroll Documents: What Employers Need to Know
As the year comes to a close, it’s important for employers to review, access, and distribute required payroll and tax documents. Our platform makes this simple by providing centralized access to all end-of-year forms directly from your dashboard.
Where to Find Your Documents
Employers can access all year-end documents in the top-right section of their dashboard. From there, you’ll be able to view and download company-level filings as well as individual employee and contractor forms.

United States Payroll Documents
For U.S.-based employers, year-end reporting requirements typically include:
W-2 Forms (Employees)
A W-2 form is issued to each employee and reports total wages paid and taxes withheld throughout the year. These forms must be filed with the Internal Revenue Service and provided to employees for their personal tax filings.
Each employee will have their own individual W-2 available for download.
1099 Forms (Independent Contractors)
A 1099 form (commonly 1099-NEC) is issued to independent contractors. Unlike employees, contractors are responsible for managing their own tax payments. Employers must file these forms with the IRS and provide copies to each contractor.
Each contractor paid during the year will have a corresponding 1099 form available in your dashboard.
Company Tax Filings
In addition to individual forms, employers can access company-level tax filings required for federal reporting and compliance.
Canadian Payroll Documents
For Canadian employers, year-end documentation includes:
T4 Slips (Employees)
A T4 slip reports employment income and deductions for each employee. These must be submitted to the Canada Revenue Agency and provided to employees for their personal tax returns.
Each employee will have their individual T4 available for download.
Employer Summary Filings
Employers can also access required summary filings that report total payroll amounts and deductions remitted during the year.
Additional Year-End Forms
Beyond tax reporting forms, you may also see other important documentation available in your dashboard, including:
- Bank Account Debit Authority Forms
- Payroll authorization records
- Compliance-related documentation
- Other company tax forms as required
These documents are stored for your records and to ensure full compliance with U.S. and Canadian payroll regulations.
